JOB DESCRIPTION

BI-WEEKLY PAY: $22-25 per hour

SIGNING BONUS: $300 – After working 250 hours

$300 – After working 500 hours

REFERRAL BONUS: $700 After your referral works 520 hours.

We are seeking a fully vaccinated/boosted Direct Support Professional who is enthusiastic and excited to make a difference in other people’s lives. You will be working with individuals who have developmental, physical, and emotional disabilities who need assistance with daily tasks. You will provide direct care and perform personal care tasks, including feeding, ambulation, medical monitoring and health care related tasks.

This position ensures the clients safety and maintains a safe environment. Some homes have high behavioral issues and medical needs. Being able to handle stress is a must!

A variety of shifts are available: day swing, NOC. with full and part time positions available. Compensation is $23/hour (Health Insurance after 90 days working full time, 401k with 6% matching after 3 months, paid vacation days)

What You Will Do

As a Direct Support Professional, you will work closely with our clients in one of our residential homes, helping them with their daily living activities, such as housekeeping, meal preparation, attending appointments, and running errands. You will also assist them in finding and/or customizing jobs that suit their skills and preferences. You will provide them with job coaching and employment support to help them succeed in their work environments. You will also encourage them to participate in social and recreational activities in their community, such as education, sports, arts, and volunteering.

What You Need

To become a Direct Support Professional, you need:

  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Some relevant experience or training in working with people with disabilities. Previous experience as a caregiver, personal assistant, home health aide, or similar role is preferred.
  • Skills: Good communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Flexibility, adaptability, patience, compassion, and respect. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to follow instructions and policies.
  • Licenses and certifications: A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Valid vehicle insurance and registration. Ability to pass a criminal background check and a drug test. Registration for DSP (Direct Support Professional) Year 1 within 30 days of employment and DSP (Direct Support Professional) Year 2 within 60 days. Or completion of DSP (Direct Support Professional) Year 1 & 2 training course and certification before working in the home with individuals.
  • Physical requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds and ability to bend, kneel, run, stoop, and other physical movements3.
